Ideas for holidays, weekends and trips in Vitrolles and its surroundings

During your stay, the Campanile Marseille- Vitrolles Griffon offers easy access to many natural sites and outdoor activities. The Vitrolles Plateau is a great place to start. This elevated area is home to numerous animal species and Mediterranean vegetation. Visitors can explore the landscape by foot, by bike or on horseback, and will have great views of the city and the nearby lake. The lake, which encompasses and area of over 37, 000 acres, was once surrounded by large salt marshes. It has since become a natural bird reserve, and is frequented by almost 250 bird species, including pink flamingos, swans, Great Black Cormorants and River Kingfishers. Visitors to the lake can relax at Marettes Beach, located in the Vignettes neighbourhood of Vitrolles. There are also a number of green spaces within the city. Griffon Park, which sits across the motorway from the Campanile Marseille- Vitrolles Griffon Hotel, is one of the largest in the city. It has several facilities such as a tennis court, a volleyball court and a playground. It is also the site of an ancient roman archaeological site.
